cheese grits with chunky tomato sauce
Once again, this is something you can make with stuff you already have around the house. I've never had grits with tomato sauce before, and once I did, it made me wonder- what's the difference between grits and polenta? It doesn't matter to me- I love them both, especially when home-made. This is a simple, delicious recipe, and also a great way to use up any tomato sauce leftovers. You can find the recipe here.

This is the best website ever! I am a junkie now. How do I become a taster? I have never had grits. The site looks so great. The picture of Elliot is the best.

PS- I have never eaten grits and I am interested.
When I was a kid, my dad would make grits (slow cooked only! none of that instant stuff) for a weekend breakfast. We would have them (add butter & salt) with link sausage and a danish. But the treat was that he would then spread the leftover grits on a cookie sheet and put them in the fridge. The next morning he would cut then into strips and fry them. We then put on a little butter and maple syrup. Super leftovers! This is why I'm now on a diet.
